The weather is changing and and only thing I can think of is Hoodies! Zip up and pull overs tend to fill my closet this time of year.
Hoodies have really become very popular within the past few years. You can dress them up or dress them down with the ever changing cuts, styles and colors. Layer them over your favorite Tanks or baby-dolls.
My son has hung up the winter coat and opted to wear a insulated hoodie instead. I tend to see this trend among a lot of teenagers now days. There has also been a manufacture of Hoodies that have seen this trend and now is including special mp3 player pockets with slit for the ear buds.
So how did this garment come to be.
The history of the specific Hooded sweatshirt began in the 1930s, but the hooded historical precedent dates the style and form of the hoodie back to the Middle Ages. The formal wear for Catholic monks included a cowl, a long, decorative hood worn in addition to the standard tunic or robes. The first in this modern clothing style was first produced by Champion in the 1930s for laborers in the frozen warehouses of New York. Its popularity spread as sportswear designers soon after. The rest is History.
Today you can find the hoodie screen printed, printed with gold foil, embroidered, and decorated with rhinestones. The styles are endless...
This by far is my favorite garment.. The zip-up style is my 1st choice.
